About the graduate programme:

Project: DC-DC Converter refresh. This project uses newfound operating modes that allow the main DC to DC converter to operate over a wider working range, having fewer product variants and higher efficiency which could reduce the material and labour cost.

The goal would be to support the implementation of new software algorithms and evaluate their performance through test before making recommendations on possible changes. This project would be ideal for an electronics student with a strong software background.

For students to be eligible, students must:
• Be about to complete, or have recently completed a masters degree in science, technology, engineering, design or business (i.e., have submitted a thesis or marking for completed course requirement for taught masters) no more than 12 months ago); and
• Have undertaken the study at a New Zealand tertiary education institute if they are not a New Zealand citizen; and
• Be legally permitted to work in New Zealand; and
• Not have been previously employed in the industry under a professional arrangement related to their area of study, except temporary, part-time or at a tertiary organisation; and
• Not have been previously employed at the business, unless this was short-term employment (e.g., over the summer break)

What you will be doing:
• Competently testing all Enatel products and systems.
• Ensuring products are built safely and to agreed customer specifications.
• Acting as a technical leader in the Production Department and providing training and support for other technical and assembly staff.
• Diagnosing faults in conjunction with other Technicians.
• Identification of fault trends and reporting changes to management.
• Repairing products and systems as required.
• Reporting on quality data, highlighting areas of concern using pareto analysis.
• Assisting with the production engineering approval process.
• Working with Production Management to ensure technical training programmes are appropriate and incorporate all electrical test and safety elements.
• Working with Production Management to improve training competency processes and training matrices.

Skills and Qualifications:
• Safety-First approach.
• Technical knowledge of power conversion products AC and DC competent.
• Previous experience in testing or servicing telecommunication systems (required)
• Ability to de-solder & solder through hole and SMT components.
• Experience in reading and understanding schematic diagrams and overlays.
• Sound knowledge of electrical theory and anti-static precautions.
• Excellent communications skills – written, verbal and listening.
• Intermediate computer skills including MS Excel.
• Excellent numeracy skills.
• Appropriate electrical certification.
• EST training or similar electronics qualification.

Working Hours:
Monday to Thursday 8:00-4:30pm, Fridays 6:00am-2:30pm
