Systems Administrator

Enatel Ltd is a fast growing Christchurch based electronics manufacturer that develops, manufactures and markets a range of power systems and components used in Telecom, IT and industrial applications worldwide.

Due to continued growth and some new IT projects, we’re looking for a systems administrator to join our IT department. This role has been created because the IT manager will be heavily involved in an ERP project so a mid-senior level person is required to help fill the gap. This is also a bit of a hands on role with a jack of all trades element to it. A minimum of 2 years’ experience is required in a similar role and 5 years’ in IT.

All members of the IT department are required to support the devices and users within the environment so you must have good communication skills and the ability to think on your feet. You must be able to train and convey technical information to non-technical staff members. You will need to be able to come up with solutions to problems and present them to the department or to other staff within the business.

The systems administrator will be required to maintain, upgrade, develop, configure and deploy systems for our IT environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Dealing with day to day questions or issues raised by staff or identified by IT in a timely manner.
  • Self-management of time and priorities.
  • Managing, monitoring, configuring and updating our internal and external servers and other hardware in use within the environment.
  • Researching, testing, configuring and deploying new solutions to improve the IT environment or assist with issues / annoyances staff have, including developing proposals to present to the IT team, project teams or management.
  • Root cause analysis of issues and to diagnose and repair them in a timely manner.
  • Risk assessment, patching, updates and IT security tasks required to minimise IT risk and exposure.
  • Scripting, automation, reporting and development of applications for internal systems and cloud hosted solutions. Includes small applications in C# integrating with ERP and other core systems utilising SQL databases.
  • Building, deploying, configuring, updating, training and support of desktops, servers, laptops, portable devices and the applications on each.
  • Representing the IT department in meetings when the IT Manager is unavailable. Able to communicate the strategies and solutions that fit within the requirements of the project, IT objectives and plans, company direction, vision and values.
  • Other IT tasks and projects as required.

Required skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal English, interpersonal skills and communication.
  • Excellent analytical skills and root cause analysis. Must be able to think outside the box and come up with innovative solutions to problems that require quick resolution. Ability to fix the root cause when it doesn’t impact users.
  • Excellent understanding of desktop and server operating systems and applications, including Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, Exchange, Ubuntu Server.
  • Basic physical skills such as running cables, terminating network connections and mounting devices. Not afraid to work at height.
  • Understanding of Visual Studio, C#, .Net, HTML, PHP, MySQL, MSSQL, PowerShell and bash and any associated applications from both a developer and administration point of view.

Not necessary but advantageous:

  • Office 365 and ERP experience.

Enatel operates a Monday to Friday business with hours of operation supported on site by IT between 8AM and 5PM. There is no on call or overtime requirement for this role, however, some flexibility around hours when very occasional after hours work is required would be good.

IT Support Technician

This is our internal helpdesk role but has the opportunity to step up and assist on project work and deployments. This is a hands on role rather than just email / phone support. A minimum of 1 years’ experience is required in a similar role.

All members of the IT department are required to support the devices and users within the environment so you must have good communication skills and the ability to think on your feet. You must be able to train and convey technical information to non-technical staff members. You will need to be able to come up with solutions to problems and present them to the department or to other staff within the business.

The IT support technician will be required to support, assist, train, maintain, upgrade, configure and deploy end-user systems for our internal IT environment as required by the IT manager.

  • Researching, testing, configuring and deploying new solutions to improve the IT environment or assist with issues / annoyances staff have, and if appropriate, presenting to the IT team.
  • Other internal IT tasks and projects as required.

  • Good general understanding of common desktop applications and licensing.
  • Analytical and root cause analysis including the ability to understand solutions found online and apply them to the situation at hand.

Business Development Manager – Enatel Motive Power

Scope of Role:
The primary focus of the DC Assembly Team Leader is to manage the day to day DC production. This role will have you running up to five production lines. You will support your Production Manager as and when required.

Purpose of the role:

As a Regional Sales Manager, you report to the General Manager Sales Enatel Energy and will interact with Management members, as well as all internal departments. You are the primary interface to Enatel Energy’s customers and distribution partners. You articulate technology, product positioning, are familiar with selling value, and able to establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the sales cycle.

 

Scope of responsibility:

The role is suited to a confident and organised sales professional, who has worked in a similar role for a hi-tech based product company. An ability to build and cultivate relationships at management level with major multinational companies and Telcos is essential. The position will involve a degree of international travel.

This is a significant position within the company and it is expected that the Regional Sales Manager maintains a high level of professionalism and integrity, display a positive attitude and a team focus and be enquiring and articulate.

 

Key Duties:

–  Develop, manage and execute sales plans, strategies and goals based on growth objectives.

–  Maintains and builds rapport with existing customers whilst actively looking for and pursuing new business opportunities.

–  Provide accurate and timely sales forecast information and monthly reports.

–  Prepare proposals, quotations and tender responses as required. Presentations to end-users and prospects at customer meetings and events.

–  Work within agreed budgets and timescales, and integrate sales efforts with other organised marketing activities, e.g. product launches, promotions, advertising and exhibitions.

–  Negotiate commercial agreements and able to appoint effective new business partners in appropriate markets.

–  Relentlessly monitors market dynamics (global and regional) including customer and competitor developments, and recommends appropriate strategies.

–  For review by the GM Sales, prepares an annual Account and Business Development Plan that aligns with and meets the objectives established by the overall plan for the Telecommunications sales function. Includes in the annual plan; key prospects, markets, performance indicators and a comprehensive budget.

–  Once agreed implements the plan including undertaking the following.

–  Attends roadshows, expos and other events as appropriate and budgeted.

–  Demonstrates the product range.

–  Develops relationships with the customer; working alongside the channel/distribution partner to more effectively demonstrate and sell the product.

–  Utilises the services of technical and product specialists as required to develop relationships, demonstrate the products and complete sales.

–  Negotiates agreements with channel/distribution partners – formally or informally; ensuring objectives of Enatel are met.

–  Effectively manages the business transactions with new channel/distribution partners to ensure the relationship meets objectives.

–  Researches potential new markets and opportunities for Enatel products; providing recommendations to the GM Sales as to the opportunities.

–  Reports monthly to the GM Sales on achievement of plan objectives and budget.

 

Educational Qualifications:

–  Relevant Tertiary qualification.

 

Work Experience:

–  >5 years sales and commercial experience selling into domestic and international markets.

–  Strong technical skill set

 

Business Skills:

–  Demonstrates high levels of sales and business acumen.

–  Demonstrated ability to exceed sales targets in a varied international marketplace.

–  Excellent negotiator.
