This is an exciting role for a Systems Engineer in our growing Engineering team. You’ll need a strong background in DC Power Engineering and to enjoy working within a team of smart, motivated people.

The Systems Engineering Team (SET) plays an important role at Enatel, providing technical resource to the sales team, designing, and managing the build of new systems prototypes and complex CTO solutions. The team supports operations by creating and managing BOM’s, work instructions and test procedures, and overseeing the process for Engineering to Order (ETO) and Configure to Order (CTO) within the business.

Key Deliverables of the Systems Engineering Team:

  • Ensuring the gateway and processes in the SET align with key objectives of the business.
  • Ensuring the ETO process is managed carefully with consideration for cost, future opportunities, and alternative CTO offerings.
  • Building the CTO capability to reduce cost, increase efficiency and in turn consolidate and grow the Energy business.
  • Work with the Operations team and other functions (such as finance) to measure cost, improvement, and success of SET initiatives.
  • Look for opportunities to create efficiency through process, prioritisation, and cost analysis.

Key Responsibilities of the Systems Engineer:

New Product Development:

This involves complete development cycle from Research, Design Concepts, Prototyping, Development, QA & Testing, Deployment, Support & Maintenance and Performance Tuning.

  • Design and build prototype systems
  • Sourcing of systems components locally and overseas
  • Make Bill of materials using CSI
  • Collaborate with the Systems Process engineer to develop work & assembly instructions
  • Construction of test methods/procedures
  • Perform/co-ordinate systems testing – from complete system testing to specific monitor software functionality testing
  • Assist Writing System or sub assembly manuals

Provide technical responses to tenders & quotations worldwide:

  • Writing up clause-by-clause responses to tenders
  • Take customer requirements and turn them into technical proposals consisting of Layout and Schematic Diagrams
  • Creating 2D and 3D drawings using Microsoft Visio and Solid edge
  • Provide costing and cost difference analysis as per required Bill of materials

Production Support:

  • Assist Writing technical bulletins for product or test routine enhancements
  • Product Maintenance – to modify, enhance and maintain existing Enatel product designs as required
  • Execute VA/VE on existing product lines.

Customer Support & training:

  • Provide support to customers relating to specification, installation & maintenance of Enatel Power Supply products and provide training from time to time.

Skills required:

  • Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering – and an interest and some knowledge in both.
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills
  • Self-motivated, organised and project driven. You must have the right attitude and team player
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft applications such as Word, Visio, Excel etc

Experience: 

  • Tertiary qualification in Electronics/Power electronics Engineering

Coordinating production workflow for one or multiple products. Planning and prioritizing manufacturing to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay. Planning resource, equipment and raw materials needed to cover production demand.

Scope of Role:
The primary focus of the Dispatch Team Leader is to drive the Dispatch team to complete the packing, loading, dispatch and administration of customer orders in a safe conscious, accurate and timely manner.
