Purpose of the role

The purpose of the Quality & Compliance Manager role is to lead and manage all aspects of product compliance, product and service quality and environmental management.

Scope of responsibility

  • Leading, managing and supporting all the activities which achieve and maintain compliance and contribute to the quality of Enatel products and services
  • Leading, managing and supporting all the activities which minimise the environmental impact of Enatel’s operations and products.
  • Manages the Service Dept.

Product Regulatory Compliance ·     Assess business strategic goals and advise of potential compliance considerations

·     Processes in place to ensure compliance knowledge is current for all products and markets and communicated to appropriate divisions.

·     Product Regulatory Compliances are achieved to project plan during New Product Development and maintained post commercial release

·     Ensure processes in place for continuing compliance as products are up-revisioned and regulatory requirements updated.

Compliance considerations are referenced in business strategic plans.

Compliance
Resource
·     Ensure Enatel maintains a competent, efficient, economical, and adequately resourced compliance facility. The compliance function can deliver the product compliance needs of the business.
Quality & Compliance Planning ·     Provides the strategic direction for quality and compliance in the business plans. Develops goals and executes objectives. Contributes to the development of Business Plans. Delivers on goals and objectives.
Factory Certifications ·     Factory Regulatory, Quality and Environmental Certifications are maintained. (UL, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO/IEC 80079-34, CSA) External audits identify no Variations/Major Non-conformances.
Customer contact ·     Ensures Enatel is informed and understands customer quality expectations and concerns by accompanying (or participates in conference calls) Sales staff on visits/phone calls with key customers. Understands customer expectations and concerns. Ensures these are addressed in all stages of product development, production and support.
Product Quality ·     Processes in place and monitored to assure supplier quality and production quality. Supplier and production quality show improving trends
Field Reliability ·     Field reliability is monitored and reported. Appropriate action initiated when reliability objectives are not met. Field issues identified promptly and countermeasures actioned.

Position:  RMA Service Technician

Department:  Quality

Reports to:  Quality Manager

Direct Reports:  None

Position purpose:

To diagnose and repair Enatel product returned for service, write analysis reports and provide information regarding these failures to Quality Assurance, Engineering and Manufacturing to improve product quality.

Key responsibilities:

  • The failure analysis and service of power conversion products returned from the field
  • The upgrade of product for service to current version status
  • Provide service reports to Quality Assurance, Engineering, Manufacturing and Sales.
  • Administration tasks related to servicing
  • Meeting service turnaround times

Other duties:

  • If time permits, supporting manufacturing technicians by training new technicians and helping service product failed in production.

Required skills:

  • Strong technical knowledge of Enatel power conversion modules
  • Ability to de-solder & solder through hole and SMT components
  • Read and understand schematic diagrams and overlays
  • Sound knowledge of electrical theory and anti-static precautions
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Proficient in English, both oral and written
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work both in a team and independently
  • Positive attitude

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification in Electrotechnology or partial qualification in Electrical Engineering
  • Technical knowledge of power conversion products
  • Previous experience in testing or servicing electronic devices

Person Specification:

Attributes Essential Desirable
Skills & Attributes High level of competency in understanding power conversion schematics and circuit operation.

 

Ability to fault find and service power conversion modules.

 

Accuracy and attention to detail on administration tasks.

 

Experience & Qualifications Tertiary qualification in Electrotechnology and/or full or partial qualification in Electrical Engineering.

Technical knowledge of power conversion products

Previous experience in testing or servicing electronic devices

Production line servicing experience with Enatel products.

Title:  Engineering Manager

Purpose of the role

The Engineering Manager is responsible for the activities of the Engineering business unit and is accountable for the timely development and delivery of Enatel products.

As part of the Senior Management team, the Engineering Manager contributes to the development and execution of Company strategy, as well as the Company’s annual and medium-term business plans.

Scope of responsibility

In alignment with the wider company objectives, the Engineering Manager oversees and develops the Engineering business unit strategy and provides guidance to the wider Enatel business on Engineering activities.

The Engineering Manager is responsible for managing workflow through Engineering, product deadlines, overseeing new and revised product development (including the stage-gate process), engineering project management, test and validation, product approvals, engineering standards compliance, continuous improvement and overall staff management.  Responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing Research and Development of new products.
  • Overseeing the Enatel stage-gate processes.
  • Manages an engineering team and coordinates activities of the engineering department to design, and develop, produce, improve, and test components, products, systems, and services to accomplish goals efficiently.
  • Prepares resource plans and project schedules for the development of new product lines and maintains the system of budget and schedule control.
  • Ensure project plans are supported by appropriate KPI’s and driven to deadlines.
  • Develop research phase procedures that allow fast “design concept” verification and quick conversion to development.
  • Works closely with production to ensure “design for manufacturing” guidelines are met, and products are able to be efficiently, and reliabily produced.
  • Prepares all R&D and Engineering related CAPEX requests.
  • Recommends and implements new policies, processes and procedures to enhance and advance the performance of the Engineering department to maximize return on resources employed.
  • Develop an environment that allows engineers to strive, excel and deliver targets.
  • Nourishes a culture of innovation, excellence and results.
  • Ensures compliance of company policies, global design and engineering standards, processes, vision and values.
  • Reports to the Managing Director on a regular basis.
