What do we do?

Motive Power Chargers and Monitoring:

We are a global leader in the design and manufacture of high frequency, modular battery chargers for material handling equipment, ground support equipment, automated guided vehicles, and other off-highway vehicles.

Our chargers have been designed especially for charging large lead acid and lithium-ion batteries. Our products are engineered and produced locally, with distribution hubs in the United States and the United Kingdom.

About the opportunity

Enatel is seeking motivated Assemblers to join our Manufacturing team in Christchurch, building innovative, world‑leading technology that is used by customers across the globe. These roles are critical to bringing our designs to life, following detailed work instructions and high-quality standards.

We are recruiting for:

Day Shift Assembler
Monday–Thursday: 7:00am–3:30pm
Friday: 6:00am–2:30pm

Afternoon Shift Assembler
Monday–Thursday: 3:20pm–11:50pm
Friday: 2:20pm–10:50pm

In this role, you will:

  • Assemble products to specification using detailed work instructions
  • Prepare materials, tools and equipment before assembly tasks begin
  • Inspect incoming parts and completed assemblies for quality
  • Perform functional testing to ensure products meet requirements
  • Identify and report non-conformances to the Production Team Leader
  • Work collaboratively with production and warehouse team members
  • Safely handle and lift units up to 15kg when required
  • You will be part of a supportive production environment, reporting to the Production Team Leader and working closely with Senior Assemblers and Production staff.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will be someone who:

  • Has assembly experience
  • Follows and can read instructions accurately and consistently
  • Enjoys hands-on, practical work
  • Has a strong focus on quality and safety
  • Works well in a team environment
  • Is reliable, motivated and willing to learn
  • Has strong attention to detail
  • Experience in manufacturing or electronics assembly is beneficial, but transferable skills and a positive attitude are just as important.

About the opportunity

Enatel is seeking an experienced Intermediate Mechanical Engineer to join our high‑performing Engineering team. In this role, you will play a key part in the mechanical design, development and lifecycle management of innovative power and electronics products used globally.

You’ll work closely with cross‑functional teams across Systems, Hardware, PCB, Compliance, Product and Operations to deliver world‑leading technology through reliable, cost‑effective and manufacturable mechanical solutions from concept through to customer validation.

In this role, you will:

  • Design, develop and maintain high‑quality mechanical solutions across multiple products and product families
  • Translate user needs, system integration requirements and workflows into practical, manufacturable designs
  • Deliver projects from early concept through to verification and customer validation, on time and to scope
  • Review and improve designs using production, test and RMA data
  • Support, modify and enhance existing products, ensuring timely resolution of issues
  • Identify, manage and escalate technical risks and issues as required
  • Work collaboratively across Engineering, Product, Operations and other stakeholders
  • Contribute as a member of the R&D team, reporting to the Mechanical and PCB Team Leader

About you

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or equivalent
  • 3+ years’ experience in mechanical development of electronic products and associated systems
  • Strong hands‑on experience across the full mechanical design lifecycle
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks or a similar CAD package
  • Experience with DFM, DFA, rapid prototyping and mechanical analysis (structural/thermal)
  • The ability to take designs from early ambiguity through to product launch
  • Strong problem‑solving skills, commercial awareness and attention to detail
  • A collaborative working style with clear communication skills
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to work independently when required
  • Experience with SolidWorks PDM, EMC‑aware design, plastic injection moulding or gated product development lifecycles will be highly regarded.
